Cocktail Maternity Dresses
You might be drinking mocktails, but that doesn’t mean you have to water down your attire. Stick to the same cocktail party rules where LBDs are more than welcome, cocktail rings are in their element and conversation revolves around sparkly heels and hors d’oeuvres. The frock you choose should be short and sweet like your introductions, and most importantly, a dark, slimming shade.
Stemwear. Your midsection might not look the same, but there’s still a way to play up your legs. Opt for a shorter frock and show off those glamorous gams by way of patterned hosiery, sparkly flats or sky-high stilettos. The trick is to move the eye away from your bump and towards your most flattering features.
Name your shade. Don’t be afraid to choose a dress on the dark side of the color wheel. Bright colors draw attention, but in a bad way. There’s a reason everyone has a little black dress: it’s slimming, form-fitting and flaunts all the right assets. Not only with a darker hue disguise your baby bump, but choosing a solid color will elongate your silhouette.
