Starting on May 18, Bellevue’s Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery will host a special traveling exhibit of rare Dr. Seuss artwork. The Art of Dr. Seuss – Rare Editions exhibit will offer kiddos and parents alike an extraordinary look into the artistic life of Theodor Seuss Geisel and includes now-rare editions from his Secret Art, Unorthodox Taxidermy Sculpture, and Archive Collections. On opening night, national artist representative and Kirkland resident Jeff Schuffman will present a brief lecture at the gallery at 7:00 pm, providing insights into Geisel’s artistic endeavors, his unique vision, and impact on American culture. At this grand opening celebration of Play-Well Northwest Activity Center, no sign up is required. Just stop by anytime throughout the day to tour the newest play space on the block and help celebrate with activities, cake, prizes, and fun for all! Adults and kiddos can explore the world of Play-Well and have an experience to remember. Plus, visit with the instructors to learn more about Play-Well's engineering programs, enjoy hands-on experiences with projects from the classes and take on a Battle Track challenge, fly and X-wing Glider, and more! The Museum of Flight will commemorate Armed Forces Day with the Navy League of the United States, the Air Force Association, and the Association of the United States Army. Family events include distinguished military speakers, a country music concert, and military equipment displays. The festivities will begin with a flag raising ceremony in front of the Museum using flags of the five service branches and the POW/MIA flag.
